Miramar Parkway Resurfacing

This project consisted of the resurfacing of Miramar Parkway from Palm Avenue to University Drive.

As consulting engineers, SSA prepared all construction documents and technical specifications and assisted the City in estimating the construction cost.  Our firm also processed all necessary permits, reviewed and responded to requests for information, requests for change orders, and performed several construction inspection tasks necessary to resurface the four-lane divided roadway.  As part of the resurfacing project, existing broken sidewalks were inspected and identified for repair. The existing adjacent swales were reconstituted to allow for adequate stormwater runoff conveyance and storage.  Design, permitting, and construction administration of the civil engineering discipline primarily consisted of paving & grading and pavement marking & signage.  Our firm worked closely with the City to ensure that underground utilities would not be damaged and that the plans were coordinated with the Florida Department of Transportation as well as other entities for future improvements on University Drive and Palm Avenue.
