Seventh Avenue Transit Village

Mixed Use Residential

SSA teamed up with a local renowned architect to re-develop 2.74 acres of land within the City of Miami. This project consisted of a shared-use concept between the private developer and the Miami-Dade County Transit Department. The primary function of this proposed development was to provide a centralized Transit Port/Hub within the northern portion of the City of Miami in order to provide the local community with a source of public transportation. Aside from the public function that this development was designed to provide, the private developer added on a residential tower, a black-box theatre, retail space, and office space in an effort to make this project a feature location within this existing community.

This extensive civil design included: approximately 800 linear feet of proposed water main, multiple water and sewer service connections for domestic water service, irrigation service, and adequate fire protection, as well as, an innovative stormwater management system that included exfiltration trenches being interconnected with underground storage in an effort to meet the stormwater disposal requirements needed to obtain an Environmental Resource Permit through the SFWMD and a Drainage Connection Permit through FDOT. Various governing agencies were involved in this project resulting in an extensive amount of permitting for the proposed civil infrastructure.  The project is currently being processed for LEED Silver certification through the US Green Building Council.
