Virgin MiamiCentral Station

Mixed Use

This proposed train station consisted of the design and permitting of civil infrastructure including water main and sanitary sewers, drainage structures, and roadway improvements as well as construction monitoring and coordination of all civil facilities. This was a contaminated site that required drainage coordination with all environmental agencies having jurisdiction to ensure that all contaminates were contained.

The scope also included utility coordination within an extremely congested corridor underneath the proposed train station and adjacent public roads. Precautionary measures were taken to avoid damage to an existing 60” force main during the construction of the train station. Meetings and negotiations with M-DWASD took place to consider various design alternatives for the possible relocation of this existing 60” force main.  This project also included the design and coordination of a 30” water main underneath NW 6th street proposed to be under the proposed train rails and the installation of a 16” water main underneath the rail lines of MetroMover and MetroRail.
